Is Quizlet free?
Partly. You can make sets and study them as flashcards for free, but the features most students care about before a test, Learn mode and practice tests, are capped on the free plan. Here's what you get and what it costs to unlock the rest.

- Textbook solutions: step-by-step answers from textbooks are a paid feature.
What Quizlet Plus costs
| Plan | Price (US) | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Flashcards, Match, public sets, with ads |
| Plus | $7.99/month or $35.99/year | No ads, offline access, more Learn rounds and practice tests each month |
| Plus Unlimited | Higher annual price | Unlimited Learn, practice tests and textbook solutions |
Is Quizlet Plus worth it?
If you use Learn mode every week, the annual plan works out to about $3 a month, which is fair. If you mainly flip through flashcards, the free plan is enough. And if you're paying mostly for practice tests, consider whether a tool that writes tests from your own notes would serve you better.
Free ways to do what Plus does
- Long-term memorization: Anki is free on desktop, web and Android and uses spaced repetition.
- Practice tests from your own notes: Cramsmith's quiz maker writes a practice test from what you paste or upload, with explanations. You can try it without signing up.
- Flashcards from a PDF: the flashcard maker builds a deck from your notes and exports it to Quizlet or Anki.
